Created by Sarina Lacina, Soothing Savage brings dark fantasy, romance, gothic architecture and seasonal worlds to life through immersive, detailed coloring books. Each one is designed to feel like a whole world to explore, not simply a stack of pages.
The result is a collection for anyone who would rather wander through a haunted hotel, step inside a romantic fantasy or spend Halloween at a castle than color another ordinary scene. It feels especially fitting for this time of year, but these imaginative worlds are designed to be explored well beyond October.
A Whole World to Explore
Soothing Savage began with Sarina’s desire to create wilder worlds people could get lost in. That sense of escape is woven throughout everything she creates.
Her books are detailed and atmospheric, with settings and themes that invite colorists to linger on each page. Some are dark and mysterious. Others are romantic, seasonal or playful. What connects them all is the feeling that the reader is entering a complete world rather than simply working through a collection of unrelated illustrations.
Three Different Ways to Get Lost
The Soothing Savage collection includes three main lines.
The intricate adult coloring books are approximately 100 pages each and include titles such as Haunted Hotel and Victorian Reverie. These books lean into the richly detailed, immersive side of Sarina’s work.
Her romantasy coloring books include Moon-Cursed Hearts and The Dragon King’s Bride, combining romance and fantasy for readers who enjoy more dramatic, imaginative worlds.
For younger colorists, Sarina also creates cute, not-scary children’s books such as Halloween at the Castle and Life of a Witch Princess. She wanted to give children more fantasy options and a way to discover their inner dark child without making the experience frightening.
More Than Coloring Books
Sarina’s creative world extends beyond the printed page. Soothing Savage also offers printable editions and moody fantasy canvas prints.
She runs the Soothing Savage Ambience channel on YouTube, where the same atmospheric sensibility behind her coloring books carries into immersive fantasy ambience. It is also the closest match for the business’s theme song. When asked what Soothing Savage would sound like, Sarina described it as something moody and atmospheric, much like the fantasy ambience on her channel.
Off the Clock
Sarina’s favorite way to relax is closely connected to what she creates. After a busy day, she loves getting lost in an immersive fantasy world, the same kind of world she tries to build in her books.
It is a fitting reset for someone whose work is centered on creating places people can step into, explore and make their own through color.
