This girl has been a globetrotter, has seen the world and been behind the lens at iconic landmarks and epic locations, but her heart is capturing life’s memories and moments for others!
In this Bloomin’ Female Force feature, the snapshot is on Abi Orr — an efficient, artistic, and organized photographer whose work captures life’s most meaningful moments with authenticity and style. Typically behind the lens, we’re pulling her into the spotlight for this feature.

Meet Abi Orr
Abi is the talent behind A Maddison Photography and the Instagram account @amaddisonphotography. Her work includes specialty in senior portraiture, family photography, engagements, weddings, and newborn photography.
Her secret to finding the perfect angle and immortalizing moments worth remembering? A unique global perspective gained from spending 10 years living overseas. That experience has shaped her artistry, giving her a broader understanding of people, cultures, and how to capture genuine connection in a single frame.
A Global Perspective Behind the Lens
Abi’s time abroad wasn’t just about moving 6 times in 10 years and new locations — it was about new perspectives. Living overseas taught her how to adapt, connect, and observe, all skills that now serve her well in her photography career. It takes a special talent to draw out the sparkle in a senior’s eyes (any mom will attest that this is an awkward stage and it can be challenging to get a genuine smile!) Abi instigates shared laughter at a family session, and fosters tender moments on a wedding day. Abi knows how to see — and preserve — what matters most.
“I think living overseas has given me an eye for the details,” Abi shares. “In photography, those little details can be everything.”

The Style That Sets Her Apart
Abi’s preferred style is shooting outdoors in natural light. She gives thought to composition, and a balance of candid moments with gentle directed posing. Clients describe her as calm, prepared, and creative — someone who brings both professionalism and a friendly energy to every shoot.
Gone are the days of stressful, strained family Christmas card sessions. Abi’s photoshoots often feel like relaxed conversations, where clients forget the camera is snapping while they interact and chat. The result? Images that are polished, but never forced.
Abi’s Top 3 Photography Tips
I couldn’t resist asking Abi for her best advice for anyone preparing for a session:
Dress to Impress: Confidence translates beautifully in photos, so wear something you love. Stick with gentle colors that aren't going to detract from the main focal point (YOU, your children, etc)
Trust the Process: A good photographer will guide you — you don’t need to know how to pose perfectly. So don’t stress about getting your kids to “pose”.
Bring a Little Bit of “You”: Whether it’s a favorite accessory, location, or prop, small personal touches make your photos uniquely yours.

Beyond the Camera
When she’s not behind the lens, you’ll often find Abi at the gym, unwinding after a busy day. Fitness gives her the same sense of focus and renewal that she brings to her creative work — a balance that keeps her inspired and ready for her next shoot. Plus, its a great stress reliever when she’s had an hour and a half shooting outside in the South Carolina heat!
